Mirdita... A VMS District Rich in History, Precious in Gold

Tirex Resources Ltd. was formed to conduct mineral exploration and development activities in Albania. Recently, the company has announced plans to transition into production and has announced the approval of 6 separate 25 year mining licenses within the Mirdita VMS District. In addition to a keen focus on production, Tirex is targeting new discoveries through district scale exploration. Leading the way into Albania and employing modern exploration and development techniques in an area with a rich mining history, Tirex is in the right country at the right time.

"Historical data suggests that the Tirex property has the potential to host a large VMS base metal district." (NI43-101 Technical Summary Report, Mirdita Project, Albania, 2007)

North Bari Pass

Qaf Bari is an area of significant interest to the Tirex exploration team. Tirex has yet to drill in the Qaf Bari area although significant ground work has occurred, in preparation for drilling. Qaf Bari is an area with a very extensive surface gossan and was also the focus of fairly extensive drilling by past state-run exploration programs. Past state-run efforts, in this area of very significant size potential, were hampered by outdated drilling equipment and technology. Tirex plans to follow up on past work and also drill multiple new drill targets in the area that are now being generated.

Koshaj

Koshaj was a focus of drilling during the Tirex 2008 Phase 1 drill program. Drill results were excellent with wide zones of mineralization intersected in multiple holes. The first hole at Koshaj intersected 65m (core length) of 0.6% Cu, 9.0% Zn, 0.3% Pb, 48.4 g/t Ag and 2.7 g/t Au. Phase 2 drilling will follow up on the 2008 program with an aim to expand and further define the deposit. Koshaj is one of the 17 known historical deposits on the Tirex property. It was reported to be a zinc-rich deposit that was not mined due to a lack of zinc processing facilities in Albania at the time.

Gurthi Central

The Gurthi Central No. Deposit was the last historical producer in the Mirdita VMS District. The Albanian Geological Survey reports that Gurthi Central produced 772,200 tonnes of copper bearing rock of unspecified grade mainly from the Gurthi Central No. 1 Deposit. The nearby Gurthi Central No. 2 Deposit was being prepared for mining when operations ceased and is the target of planned Tirex drilling. Tirex personnel assayed selected samples from the Gurthi Central mine dump which returned high grades in copper, zinc, gold and silver confirming reports by former miners.

Gurthi South

In the Phase 1, 2008 drill program at Gurthi South No. 2, Tirex intersected wide zones of copper and gold rich VMS mineralization. Phase 2 in 2009 will aim to expand and further define this zone. Holes in this area during 2008 include a 13.85m section grading 3.5% Cu and 1.3 g/t Au, 7.1m of 5.9% Cu with 37.5 g/t Ag and 3.4 g/t Au, and 6.1m of 3.11% Cu, 3.97% Zn, 24.1 g/t Ag and 0.9 g/t Au including 2.7m of 6.65% Cu, 2.26% Zn, 24.1 g/t Ag and 1.0 g/t Au. Gurthi South No. 2, after Phase 1 drilling, remains open for expansion to the south and to the west.

Letitna

During 2008, Tirex drilled one hole at Letitna and the hole intersected a wide 61.5m zone of mineralization with strong copper, zinc, gold and silver grades. The Phase 2, 2009 drill program is designed to further test and expand the Letitna VMS Zone. Tirex geologists believe Letitna has the potential to host very large deposits, due in part to the presence of stacked lenses of VMS mineralization, the significant amount of alteration in the area indicating significant hydrothermal fluid flow through the rocks, presence of felsic volcanic

Shebe

There are several areas in the south of the District, such as near Shebe, that represent discovery potential for Tirex. Multiple geophysical anomalies were identified in the south when Tirex flew the first ever airborne geophysical survey in Albania's history. Drilling, on a go-forward basis, will be a combination of advanced stage definition and expansion drilling in known areas of mineralization concurrent with pure exploration on undrilled geophysical and geological targets.
