240m Step out at Letitna Encounters Mineralization and Extends Mineralized Zone

Attached is a news release detailing late 2009 drilling in the Mirdita District.

The 240m step out hole at Letitna intersected the mineralized zone. There is much more drilling in 2010 planned at Letitna, focused on expansion and definition. Letitna remains open for expansion and I encourage investors to view the Letitna map http://www.tirexresources.com/i/maps/Letitna_IKONOS.jpg that details drill hole locations to date.

The high priority exploration hole described in this news release (north of the Koshaj area) was abandoned well before target depth after multiple rods were broken during drilling. Onsite staff have made modifications to the drill and are now confident in their ability to penetrate the mélange unit to test the favourable volcanic sequence. Upon resumption of drilling, this discovery-focused hole will be re-drilled immediately.

As drilling resumes, we look forward to keeping you updated as news flows from the District-scale drilling planned for 2010. The drilling planned is a combination of pure exploration of new areas alongside of advanced stage definition and expansion drilling in known areas of mineralization.
